IBC Table 721.1(2), Item 10-1.1 (Hollow (studless) gypsum wallboard partition): One full-length layer of 5/8" Type X gypsum wallboard (e) attached to both sides of wood or metal top and bottom runners laminated to each side of 1" x 6" full-length gypsum coreboard ribs spaced 2" on center with approved laminating compound. Ribs centered at vertical joints of face plies and joints staggered 24" in opposing faces. Ribs may be recessed 6" from the top and bottom. Minimum finished thickness (face-to-face) — 1-hr: 2-1/4 (d)". Prescriptive assembly from the adopted building code — thicknesses are code minimums, see table footnotes for conditions.
