IBC Table 721.1(2), Item 11-1.4 (Noncombustible studs—interior partition with plaster each side): 2-1/2" x 0.044" (No. 18 carbon sheet steel gage) steel studs spaced 16" on center. Wood fibered gypsum plaster mixed 1:1 by weight gypsum to sand aggregate applied on 3/4-pound metal lath wire tied to studs, each side. 3/4" plaster applied over each face, including finish coat. Minimum finished thickness (face-to-face) — 2-hr: 4-1/4 (d)". Prescriptive assembly from the adopted building code — thicknesses are code minimums, see table footnotes for conditions.
