IBC Table 721.1(2), Item 12-1.1 (l, m) (Wood studs—interior partition with plaster each side): 2" x 4" wood studs 16" on center with 5/8" gypsum plaster on metal lath. Lath attached by 4d common nails bent over or No. 14 gage by 1-1/4" by 3/4" crown width staples spaced 6" on center. Plaster mixed 1:1-1/2 for scratch coat and 1:3 for brown coat, by weight, gypsum to sand aggregate. Minimum finished thickness (face-to-face) — 1-hr: 5-1/8". Prescriptive assembly from the adopted building code — thicknesses are code minimums, see table footnotes for conditions.
