IBC Table 721.1(2), Item 15-1.1 (l, m) (Exterior or interior walls): Exterior surface with 3/4" drop siding over 1/2" gypsum sheathing on 2" x 4" wood studs at 16" on center, interior surface treatment as required for 1-hour-rated exterior or interior 2" x 4" wood stud partitions. Gypsum sheathing nailed with 1-3/4" by No. 11 gage by 7/16" head galvanized nails at 8" on center. Siding nailed with 7d galvanized smooth box nails. Minimum finished thickness (face-to-face) — 1-hr: Varies". Prescriptive assembly from the adopted building code — thicknesses are code minimums, see table footnotes for conditions.
