IBC Table 721.1(2), Item 9-1.1 (Solid wallboard partition): One full-length layer 1/2" Type X gypsum wallboard (e) laminated to each side of 1" full-length V-edge gypsum coreboard with approved laminating compound. Vertical joints of face layer and coreboard staggered not less than 3". Minimum finished thickness (face-to-face) — 2-hr: 2 (d)". Prescriptive assembly from the adopted building code — thicknesses are code minimums, see table footnotes for conditions.
