3-Hour Fire Rated Floor-to-Wall Joint — FW-D-1001
UL System FW-D-1001 (category XHBN) — Floor-to-wall joint up to 4" wide between the edge of a min 4-1/2" reinforced concrete floor slab and the face of a concrete or UL Classified concrete block wall. The joint rating tracks wall thickness: 1 hr at min 2-1/2", 2 hr at min 3-1/4", 3 hr at min 4-1/2". The joint is packed with 4 pcf mineral wool batt cut to min 4" widths, installed edge-first and compressed min 50%, recessed from the top of the slab. A min 1/2" thickness of Pensil 300 / SpecSeal SIL300 silicone sealant (gun or self-leveling) is applied flush with the top surface of the floor. Nominal joint width up to 4"; movement capability 25% compression or extension.
