3-Hour Fire Rated Head-of-Wall Joint — HW-D-1006
UL System HW-D-1006 (category XHBN) — Head-of-wall joint between a min 4-1/2" reinforced concrete floor slab and the top of a min 5" thick concrete or UL Classified concrete block wall, with a separation up to 4". The joint is packed with 4 pcf mineral wool batt cut to min 4" widths, installed edge-first and compressed min 33% in thickness, recessed from each wall face. A min 1/2" thickness of SpecSeal ES elastomeric sealant is applied on each face flush with the wall surface. L rating less than 1 CFM/lin ft. Nominal joint width up to 4"; movement capability 15% compression or extension.
