UL Design U415 — non-bearing shaft wall, 1 to 4-hour ratings by system. Common 2-hour System B: 2-1/2" C-H steel studs (min 25 MSG) at 24" o.c. in J-runners; nominal 1" x 24" gypsum liner panels inserted vertically on the shaft side; finished side faced with two layers of 1/2" or 5/8" Type X gypsum board (base at 24"/16" o.c., face at 12"/8" o.c.). Cavity batts optional.
