1-Hour Fire Rated Steel Stud Partition — 5/8" Type X each side, 3-5/8" studs @ 24" o.c.
UL Design U465 — 1-hour non-bearing steel stud partition. Channel-shaped 3-5/8" steel studs (min 25 MSG) at 24" o.c. in matching runners, one layer of 5/8" Type X gypsum board each side attached with 1" Type S screws at 8" o.c. (edges) / 12" o.c. (field), vertical joints staggered on opposite sides. Mineral wool or glass fiber batts optional. Tested acoustic options per National Gypsum (V438/U465 details): STC 45 with 3-1/2" glass fiber; STC 53 with 6" studs, resilient channels and 6" glass fiber.
