UL Design U905 — Two-hour concrete masonry wall (rated 2 hours both bearing and non-bearing) built of UL Classified concrete blocks of various designs carrying Classification D-2 (2 hr); nominal 8 in. units are the common configuration. Optional Portland cement stucco or gypsum plaster adds 1/2 hour to the classification, and filling all core spaces with loose masonry fill (expanded slag, expanded clay, or approved insulation) adds 2 hours. Where combustible framing abuts the wall, plaster or stucco must be applied on the face opposite the framing and the maximum classification is limited to 1-1/2 hr on that basis.
