Section 709. — REINFORCING STEEL AND WIRE ROPE 709.01 Reinforcing Steel. (a) Reinforcing bars. Provide deformed, Grade 60 bars conforming to AASHTO M 31 or AASHTO M 322. (b) Epoxy- coated reinforcing bars. Provide bars conforming to Subsection 709.01(a) . For epoxy- coated prefabricated reinforcing bars, conform to ASTM A934. For epoxy- coated reinforcing bars, conform to ASTM A775. Inspect the reinforcing bars after the near -white blast cleaning. Reject bars with steel slivers or scabs.
