Field compaction testing per AASHTO T 310 (nuclear density gauge) or AASHTO T 272 (sand cone). Nuclear gauge calibration per AASHTO T 310 at standard blocks. Density testing frequency: one test per 2,000 square yards per lift for embankment, one per 1,000 SY for subgrade. Acceptance criteria: ≥95% of maximum dry density (T 99) for general fill, ≥100% for subgrade under pavement. Moisture within ±2% of optimum.
All work under this section shall comply with FDOT current standards and applicable AASHTO, ASTM, and federal requirements. The Engineer has authority to accept or reject materials and workmanship that do not conform to the specifications.
