Traffic control device design follows the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) 11th Edition as supplemented by the GA supplement. Sign placement: lateral offset minimum 6 ft from edge of traveled way on rural roads, 2 ft from face of curb on urban roads. Sign height: minimum 5 ft bottom of sign on rural, 7 ft on urban. Retroreflectivity per FHWA minimum levels. Signal design per MUTCD Part 4 with GA state-specific signal timing policies.
