M-101Aggregate Sampling and Testing

Aggregate sampling follows AASHTO T 2 (field sampling) and AASHTO R 76 (reducing samples). Acceptance tests include: gradation (AASHTO T 27/T 11), specific gravity and absorption (AASHTO T 85 coarse, T 84 fine), LA abrasion (AASHTO T 96), soundness (AASHTO T 104), sand equivalent (AASHTO T 176), flat and elongated particles (ASTM D 4791), and deleterious materials (AASHTO T 112). GDOT aggregate quality requirements per the Qualified Products List.
