Work zone traffic control design follows MUTCD Part 6 and MN standard traffic control plans. All work zone designs require a Transportation Management Plan (TMP) for significant projects per FHWA Rule 23 CFR 630 Subpart J. Temporary pavement markings shall be retroreflective tape or paint. Minimum lane width in work zones: 11 ft (10 ft with engineering study). Speed reduction through work zones limited to 10 mph below normal posted speed.
All work under this section shall comply with MnDOT current standards and applicable AASHTO, ASTM, and federal requirements. The Engineer has authority to accept or reject materials and workmanship that do not conform to the specifications.
