Right-of-way design establishes the boundaries of the public right-of-way needed for the project. Minimum ROW width accounts for roadway cross section, slopes, drainage, utilities, and future widening. NYSDOT standard ROW: Interstate 300 ft, arterial 120-150 ft, collector 80-100 ft. Temporary construction easements are required for work outside the permanent ROW. Access rights determined by highway classification and state access management policy.
All work under this section shall comply with NYSDOT current standards and applicable AASHTO, ASTM, and federal requirements. The Engineer has authority to accept or reject materials and workmanship that do not conform to the specifications.
