Asphalt binder testing follows the Superpave performance grading (PG) system per AASHTO M 320 and M 332. Required tests: dynamic shear rheometer (AASHTO T 315), rotational viscosity (AASHTO T 316), bending beam rheometer (AASHTO T 313), and direct tension (AASHTO T 314). PG grade selection based on climate data per LTPPBind software. NYSDOT PG grades: PG 64-22 standard, PG 76-22 for high traffic/heavy loading.
