1020.04.1 Pedestal Signal Poles: The pole shall be in accordance
with the plans. The base of the pedestal pole shall be cast iron or aluminum and shall be at least 16 inches wide at the bottom, at least 16 inches high and shall be octagonal. The upper end of the base shall be threaded to receive a 4 -inch diameter pipe shaft. The base shall be designed so that it may be fastened to the f oundation using 5/8 -inch-by-16-inch anchor bolts located 90 degrees apart on the circumference of a circle 12 -3/4 inches in diameter. The base shall contain a removable door to allow access to anchor bolts and to permit cable splicing. This door shall be fastened to the base using a hex head stainless steel screw into a threaded hole in the base. The shaft shall be 4 inches in inside diameter welded steel tubing with a minimum 1/8 -inch wall thickness. The lower end of the shaft shall be welded to a 6 -inch nipple to screw into the base. This shaft shall be a single piece of tubing. Apply paint or powder coat to match the color of the signal heads.
