505.01 Description. This item shall consist of portland cement
concrete constructed in one course on the prepared subgrade or on a completed and accepted base course according to the se specifications and conforming to the lines, grades, thickness, and typical cross section shown on the plans.
505.02 Materials. (a) Concrete. Concrete for driveways shall
comply with Section 802 for Class A Concrete or Cla ss M Concrete, except that mixing on site, volumetric proportionin g, and commercial bagged concrete mix will not be allowed. The Department will perform all acceptance sampling and testing at the frequencies shown for Contractor acceptance testing in Subsection 802.06.
b.Joint Filler. Materials for joint filler shall comply with AASHTO M 213.
c.Curing Materials. Curing materials shall comply with Subsection 501.02(i).
505.03 Construction Requirements. The methods employed in
performing the work shall comply with Subsection 50 1.05. Transverse expansion joints shall be placed at 15' (4.5 m) intervals or as directed by the Engineer.
505.04 Method of Measurement. Portland Cement Concrete
Driveway will be measured by the square yard (squar e meter).
505.05 Basis of Payment. Work completed and accepted and
measured as provided above will be paid for at the contract unit price bid per square yard (square meter) for Portla nd Cement 372 Concrete Driveway, which price shall be full compen sation for furnishing, preparing, hauling, and placing materia ls, including joint materials; for excavation and preparation of subgra de; for shaping and finishing; and for all labor, equipment, tools, and incidentals necessary to complete the work. Payment will be made under: Pay Item Pay Unit Portland Cement Concrete Driveway Square Yard (Square Meter)
