Sawcuts shall be for the full depth of the pavement along the perimeter of the pavement to be removed as marked by the engineer. Sawcuts shall be made with a diamond bladed concrete concrete saw for t he full depth of patch if patching is performed on the final riding surface. Patching performed on underlying surface can be full depth sawed with a rock saw or milled out with a roto - mill or stabilizer, unless otherwise specified in plans. When through traffic is maintained, place the pavement widening material, or fill and compact open areas or trenches at the end of each day's operations. Under -thickness in excess of 1/2 inch will be corrected at no direct pay. Excavate and dispose of the excess mater ial beyond the right -of-way in accordance with Section 202 at no direct pay. Uniformly compact the subgrade. For joint repair, clean contact surfaces of existing pa vement and apply a thin, uniform layer of approved asphalt tack coat prior to placing asphalt mixture in the joint.
