COMPOST BLANKET 12 -1 DESCRIPTION 13 Furnish, install, maintain and seed a water permeable compost blanket to reduce soil erosion 14 and sediment by promoting the establishment of vegetation on sandy soils where vegetation is 15 difficult to establish . 16 -2 MATERIALS 17 Refer to Division 10. 18 Item Section Compost 1060 -15 -3 CONSTRUCTION METHODS 19 Install compost blanket(s) as shown on the plans or as directed. Unless otherwise specified, 20 compost blankets should be installed at a minimum depth of 1 inch. 21 Seed compost blanket at the time of installation for establishment of permanent vegetation. 22 The Engineer will specify seeding requirements.
