SECTION 614: PIPE CASING
614.1 Description
This Work consists of providi ng and installing pipe for encasin g utility lines.
614.2 Materials
614.2.1 Galvanized Steel Pipe
The Contractor shall provide gal vanized steel pipe in accordanc e with ASTM F 1083 for galvanized standard weight pipe.
614.2.2 Corrugated Steel Pipe
The Contractor shall provide corrugated steel pipe in accordanc e with AASHTO M 36 and Section 570, “Pipe Culverts.”
614.2.3 Polyvinyl Chloride Pipe
The Contractor shall provide polyvinyl chloride pipe in accorda nce with Section 570, “Pipe Culverts.”
614.3 Construction Requirements
The Contractor shall obtain Project Manager approval of the ins tallation method before beginning the Work. The Contractor shall dig trenches for layi ng pipe in accordance with Section 660.3.1.1, “Trench Widths.” The Contractor shall conne ct the pipe sections in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. The Contra ctor shall backfill the trenches in accordance with Section 206, “Excavation and Backfi ll for Culverts and Minor Structures.”

614.5 Basis of Payment
Pay Item Pay Unit Pipe Casing Linear Foot
614.5.1 Work Included in Payment
The following Work and items will be considered as included in the payment for the main item(s) and will not be measured or paid for separately: 1. All appurtenances necessary to attach pipe casing to Bridge or Structures; and 2. No separate payment shall be made for excavation and backfil l for pipe casing.
