A.Growing Season – Portion of the year when plants grow successfully which occurs generally between the last killing frost in the spring to the first killing frost in the fall.

Part 2 — Products
2.1 Herbicide
A.Use selective chemical herbicides which are effective at controlling noxious and invasive weeds , commercially available , and EPA registered:
1.Use herbicides with aquatic labels when applying chemicals to weeds in standing or running water .
2.Use of non- selective herbicides or soil residual herbicides must be authorized by the Engineer.
3.Adjuvants and surfactants may be included to increase effectiveness of herbicide treatment.
Part 3 — Execution
3.1 Noxious and Invasive Weed Control
A.Eradicate, treat and control noxious and invasive weeds located within the project limits each growing season the project is in active construction.
1.Multiple separate treatments may be required to control noxious and invasive weeds .
B.Apply herbicide at least ten calendar days before beginning earth-disturbing activities.
1.Herbicide is sufficient to eradicate, treat and control weeds when plants are actively growing and before bloom and seed stage of growth.
2.Physical removal of weeds may be required if control efforts occur during the bloom and seed stage of growth.
