MUTCD D12-2: Carpool and Ridesharing Signing
The D12-2 sign is covered in Section 2I.14 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, 11th Edition. Below are the provisions from that section that describe when the sign is used and how it is placed.
What it means and when it is used
- Option · Permitted (may)In areas having carpool matching services, a Carpool Information (D12-2) sign (see Figure 2I-8) may be provided adjacent to highways with preferential lanes or along any other highway.
- Option · Permitted (may)Carpool Information signs may include an Internet domain name or telephone number of more than four characters within the legend.
