MUTCD D12-3: Channel 9 Monitored Sign
The D12-3 sign is covered in Section 2I.10 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, 11th Edition. Below are the provisions from that section that describe when the sign is used and how it is placed.
What it means and when it is used
- Option · Permitted (may)A Channel 9 Monitored (D12-3) sign (see Figure 2I-8) may be installed as needed. Official public agencies or their designees may be displayed as the monitoring agency on the sign.
- Standard · Required (shall)Only official public agencies or their designee shall be displayed as the monitoring agency on the Channel 9 Monitored sign.
