MUTCD D4-4a: Bicycle Parking Area, Sharing Station, and Lockers Guide Signs
The D4-4a sign is covered in Section 9D.09 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, 11th Edition. Below are the provisions from that section that describe when the sign is used and how it is placed.
What it means and when it is used
- Option · Permitted (may)The Bicycle Parking Area (D4-3) guide sign (see Figure 9D-1) may be installed where it is desirable to show the direction to a designated bicycle parking area. The arrow may be reversed as appropriate.
- Option · Permitted (may)The Bicycle-Sharing Station (D4-4) guide sign (see Figure 9D-1) may be installed to provide directional information to a designated bicycle-sharing system. The arrow may be reversed as appropriate.
Placement and mounting
- Option · Permitted (may)The Bicycle Lockers (D4-4a) guide sign (see Figure 9D-1) may be installed where it is desirable to show the direction to designated bicycle lockers. The arrow may be reversed as appropriate.
