MUTCD E5-3: EXIT ONLY Sign
The E5-3 sign is covered in Section 6H.13 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, 11th Edition. Below are the provisions from that section that describe when the sign is used and how it is placed.
What it means and when it is used
- Option · Permitted (may)An EXIT ONLY (E5-3) sign (see Figure 6H-1) may be used to supplement other warning signs where work is being conducted in the vicinity of an exit ramp and where the exit maneuver for vehicular traffic using the ramp is different from the normal condition.
