MUTCD G20-1: ROAD WORK NEXT XX MILES Sign
The G20-1 sign is covered in Section 6H.35 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, 11th Edition. Below are the provisions from that section that describe when the sign is used and how it is placed.
What it means and when it is used
- Guidance · Recommended (should)The ROAD WORK NEXT XX MILES (G20-1) sign (see Figure 6H-1 ) should be installed in advance of TTC zones that are more than 2 miles in length.
- Option · Permitted (may)The ROAD WORK NEXT XX MILES sign may be mounted on a Type 3 Barricade. The sign may also be used for TTC zones of shorter length.
