MUTCD M4-6P: END Auxiliary Plaque
The M4-6P sign is covered in Section 2D.22 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, 11th Edition. Below are the provisions from that section that describe when the sign is used and how it is placed.
What it means and when it is used
- Guidance · Recommended (should)The END (M4-6P) auxiliary plaque (see Figure 2D-5 ) should be used where the route being traveled ends, usually at a junction with another route.
- Standard · Required (shall)If used, the END auxiliary plaque shall be mounted either directly above a route sign or above a sign for an alternative route that is part of the designation of the route being terminated.
