MUTCD R10-29: Ramp Metering Signs

The R10-29 sign is covered in Section 2B.61 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, 11th Edition. Below are the provisions from that section that describe when the sign is used and how it is placed.

    When ramp control signals (see Chapter 4P) are used to meter traffic on a freeway or expressway entrance ramp, regulatory signs with legends appropriate to the control may be installed adjacent to the ramp control signal faces.
