MUTCD R13-1: Weigh Station Sign
The R13-1 sign is covered in Section 2B.65 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, 11th Edition. Below are the provisions from that section that describe when the sign is used and how it is placed.
What it means and when it is used
- Guidance · Recommended (should)An R13-1 sign with the legend TRUCKS OVER XX TONS MUST ENTER WEIGH STATION NEXT RIGHT (see Figure 2B-31 ) should be used to direct appropriate traffic into an inspection station.
- Guidance · Recommended (should)The R13-1 sign should be supplemented by the D8 series of guide signs (see Section 2D.51).
