MUTCD R15-6: No Motor Vehicles on Tracks Signs
The R15-6 sign is covered in Section 8B.14 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, 11th Edition. Below are the provisions from that section that describe when the sign is used and how it is placed.
What it means and when it is used
- Guidance · Recommended (should)The DO NOT ENTER (R5-1) sign should be used where a road user could wrongly enter an LRT only street.
- Option · Permitted (may)A No Motor Vehicles On Tracks sign may be used to deter motor vehicles from driving on the trackway. It may be installed on a 3-foot flexible post between double tracks, on a post alongside the tracks, or overhead.
Placement and mounting
- Option · Permitted (may)A reduced size of 12 x 12 inches may be used if the R15-6 sign is installed between double tracks.
