MUTCD R16-4: Move Vehicles from Travel Lanes Sign
The R16-4 sign is covered in Section 2B.70 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, 11th Edition. Below are the provisions from that section that describe when the sign is used and how it is placed.
What it means and when it is used
- Option · Permitted (may)A STATE LAW MINOR CRASHES MOVE VEHICLES FROM TRA VEL LANES (R16-4) sign (see Figure 2B-33 ) may be installed in accordance with the provisions of Section 2A.01 to require motorists to move their vehicle out of the travel lanes if they have been involved in a crash.
