MUTCD R3-9dP: BEGIN and END Plaques
The R3-9dP sign is covered in Section 2B.33 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, 11th Edition. Below are the provisions from that section that describe when the sign is used and how it is placed.
What it means and when it is used
- Option · Permitted (may)The BEGIN (R3-9cP) or END (R3-9dP) plaque (see Figure 2B-6), mounted directly above a regulatory sign, may be used to inform road users of the location where a regulatory condition begins or ends.
