MUTCD R6-5P: Roundabout Circulation Plaque

The R6-5P sign is covered in Section 2B.51 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, 11th Edition. Below are the provisions from that section that describe when the sign is used and how it is placed.

What it means and when it is used

    Where the central island of a roundabout or neighborhood traffic circle does not provide a reasonable place to install a sign as provided elsewhere in this Chapter, Roundabout Circulation (R6-5P) plaques (see Figure 2B-13 ) should be placed below the YIELD signs on each approach.
  • Option · Permitted (may)
    At roundabouts where ONE WAY signs have been installed in the central island, Roundabout Circulation plaques may be placed below the YIELD signs on approaches to roundabouts to supplement the central island signs.
