MUTCD W10-8: TRAINS MAY EXCEED 80 MPH Sign
The W10-8 sign is covered in Section 8B.19 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, 11th Edition. Below are the provisions from that section that describe when the sign is used and how it is placed.

- Guidance · Recommended (should)MPH (W10-8) sign (see Figure 8B-4 ) should be installed facing road users approaching the highway-rail grade crossing.
Placement and mounting
- Guidance · Recommended (should)MPH signs should be installed between the Grade Crossing Advance Warning (W10-1 through W10-4) sign (see Figure 8B-4 ) and the highway-rail grade crossing on all approaches to the highway-rail grade crossing. The locations should be determined based on specific site conditions.
