MUTCD W16-20P: EXCEPT BICYCLES Plaque
The W16-20P sign is covered in Section 2C.68 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, 11th Edition. Below are the provisions from that section that describe when the sign is used and how it is placed.
What it means and when it is used
- Option · Permitted (may)Where it is desired to notify bicyclists that the conditions depicted by a warning sign are not applicable to bicycles, the EXCEPT BICYCLES (W16-20P) supplemental warning plaque (see Figure 2C-16 ) may be mounted below the warning sign.
- Support · InformationExamples of warning signs with which an EXCEPT BICYCLES (W16-20P) plaque can be mounted include DEAD END (W14-1) or NO OUTLET (W14-2) signs.
