MUTCD W2-11: Actuated Advance Intersection Signs
The W2-11 sign is covered in Section 2C.42 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, 11th Edition. Below are the provisions from that section that describe when the sign is used and how it is placed.
What it means and when it is used
- Option · Permitted (may)The TRAFFIC ENTERING WHEN FLASHING (W2-10) sign (see Figure 2C-10 ) may be used on the uncontrolled through roadway approach to a side or cross road stop-controlled intersection to warn of entering traffic from the side or cross road.
- Option · Permitted (may)The TRAFFIC APPROACHING WHEN FLASHING (W2-11) sign (see Figure 2C-10 ) may be used on the side road stop- controlled approach to warn of traffic approaching on the uncontrolled through road.
