MUTCD W6-2: Divided Highway Ends Sign
The W6-2 sign is covered in Section 2C.21 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, 11th Edition. Below are the provisions from that section that describe when the sign is used and how it is placed.
What it means and when it is used
- Guidance · Recommended (should)A Divided Highway Ends (W6-2) sign (see Figure 2C-6 ) should be used in advance of the end of a section of physically divided highway (not an intersection or junction) as a warning of two-way traffic ahead.
- Guidance · Recommended (should)The Two-Way Traffic (W6-3) sign (see Section 2C.51) should be used to give warning and notice of the transition to a two-lane, two-way section.
