MUTCD W6-3: Two-Way Traffic Sign
The W6-3 sign is covered in Section 2C.51 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, 11th Edition. Below are the provisions from that section that describe when the sign is used and how it is placed.
What it means and when it is used
- Guidance · Recommended (should)A Two-Way Traffic (W6-3) sign (see Figure 2C-11 ) should be used to warn road users of a transition from a multi-lane divided section of roadway to a two-lane, two-way section of roadway.
- Guidance · Recommended (should)A Two-Way Traffic (W6-3) sign with an AHEAD (W16-9P) plaque (see Figure 2C-16 ) should be used to warn road users of a transition from a one-way street to a two-lane, two-way section of roadway (see Figure 2B-18).
