MUTCD W8-15P: Motorcycle Plaque

The W8-15P sign is covered in Section 6H.34 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, 11th Edition. Below are the provisions from that section that describe when the sign is used and how it is placed.

What it means and when it is used

  • Option · Permitted (may)
    A Motorcycle (W8-15P) plaque (see Figure 6H-1) may be mounted below a LOOSE GRA VEL (W8-7) sign, a GROOVED PA VEMENT (W8-15) sign, a METAL BRIDGE DECK (W8-16) sign, or a STEEL PLATE AHEAD (W8-24) sign if the warning is intended to be directed primarily to motorcyclists.
