Huntsville requires a permit for a re-roof.
The residential fee provision for alterations and repairs does not apply to the repair of any building whenever the reasonable cost of the material and labor for the repair is not in excess of $250.00 and no structural work is involved. The City's amendments to the 2018 International Residential Code delete subsection R105.2, the list of work exempt from permit, in its entirety.
