Electrical work permit checklist — Mobile, Alabama
Assembled from Mobile’s own published permit rules. Every line below is quoted from a city document and linked to it. Nothing here is generated, estimated, or inferred from another jurisdiction.
Do you need a permit?
Mobile requires a permit for electrical work.
An electrical permit is not required for minor repair and maintenance work, such as replacing lamps or plugging approved portable equipment into approved permanent receptacles, or for temporary systems set up to test or service electrical equipment. Electrical equipment used for radio and television transmissions is outside the code's scope, although the code still applies to its power supply equipment and wiring and to the installation of towers and antennas.
