Shed permit checklist — Scottsdale, Arizona

Assembled from Scottsdale’s own published permit rules. Every line below is quoted from a city document and linked to it. Nothing here is generated, estimated, or inferred from another jurisdiction.

Do you need a permit?

Scottsdale requires a permit for a shed.

When a permit is not required

Detached, non-habitable structures smaller than 200 square feet in floor area do not require a building permit, but a site plan must be submitted for a courtesy plan review. The city's Permit Services page also describes storage buildings of 200 square feet or less as requiring only a site plan and review.
