Do you need a permit?
Albuquerque requires a permit for electrical work.
An electrical permit is not required for portable motors or other portable appliances energized by a cord or cable with an attachment plug connected to an approved receptacle where that cord or cable is permitted by the Electrical Code; repair or replacement of fixed motors, transformers or fixed listed appliances of the same type and rating in the same location; listed cord-and-plug connected temporary decorative lighting; repair or replacement of current-carrying parts of any switch, contactor or control device; repair or replacement of receptacles with receptacles of the same type and configuration; repairs to electric signs and outline lighting with replacement parts of the same type and rating; removal of electrical wiring; and temporary wiring for experimental purposes in suitable experimental laboratories.
