Austin Development Services publishes fees by fiscal year. The FY 2025-26 residential schedule took effect October 1, 2025 and carries an update stamp of July 15, 2026. Plan review fees are payable at submittal and are non-refundable; permit fees are payable at issuance. Permit amounts for single family, duplex and townhouse work are set as a base fee per trade plus a per square foot rate. Several charges shown on the schedule are levied by Austin Fire, Austin Energy or Austin Transportation and Public Works rather than by Development Services.
