093V Expansion Bead
A rigid-and-flexible PVC control joint for gypsum board, with a deep V profile and tear-off finishing strips, supplied in 10-foot lengths and rated by the manufacturer to accommodate 3/8 inch of building movement. It is the non-fire-rated sibling of the 093X-V, and it is in this library because its submittal sheet reports flame-spread and smoke-developed indices as numbers rather than as a marketing class, which lets the interior-finish classification be checked against held code text instead of taken on trust.

- E84 Is Not Fire Resistance
- ASTM E84 measures surface burning characteristics of the material. It says nothing about how long an assembly resists fire. Recorded so no later reader promotes flame spread 15 into an hourly rating.
