Safety Critical Work

Elements of the work that, if performed improperly, could encroach upon and endanger traffic that is following all traffic regulations. Safety critical work may include work elements performed under one or more of the following situations: 101.02 101-9 • Work that is constructed on, over, or near a traffic route and could become unstable over time if installed improperly. • Work that requires the use of lifting devices in the vicinity of traffic. • Elements of work considered safety critical for the p roject will be as identified in Section 107 – Performance of Safety Critical Work. • “Traffic”, as used above, is defined as the vehicles, railroad, pedestrians, aircraft, and watercraft moving along a route.
