MUTCD W25-1: Traffic Signal Oncoming Extended Green Signs
The W25-1 sign is covered in Section 2C.44 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, 11th Edition. Below are the provisions from that section that describe when the sign is used and how it is placed.
What it means and when it is used
- Standard · Required (shall)At locations where either a W25-1 or a W25-2 sign is required based on the provisions in Section 4F.01, the W25-1 or W25-2 sign (see Figure 2C-10 ) shall be installed near the left-most signal face for the approach. Sect. 2C.45 MERGING, TWO-WAY TRAFFIC, AND NO PASSING WARNING SIGNS AND PLAQUES
