Fence permit checklist — Glendale, Arizona

Assembled from Glendale’s own published permit rules. Every line below is quoted from a city document and linked to it. Nothing here is generated, estimated, or inferred from another jurisdiction.

Do you need a permit?

Glendale requires a permit for a fence.

When a permit is not required

Ordinance No. O25-51 amends Section 105.2 of the Building Code of the City of Glendale, Arizona, to exempt fences up to seven feet tall from a building permit, other than swimming pool barriers and perimeter subdivision fences; the Community Development Fee Schedule separately lists building permit fees for fence walls over 6 feet in height and for perimeter residential subdivision walls.

Listed because the city publishes a separate rule for each type — not because this project necessarily triggers one. Whether it does depends on your scope of work.
